Eyeliner is a makeup that gives eyes definition, from high drama to naturally pretty. Its most popular application is along the top lashes. To create a dramatic look, eyeliner is applied along the top and bottom lashlines and smudged for a smoky effect. Clinique eyeliners are easy to use and help you create a range of eye looks.
To apply eyeliner pencil, find the center of the upper lashline on the upper lid. Now, draw small dashes toward the outer corner of the eye. Blend the liner together with the soft tip of the eyeliner pencil or a blending brush. With a softer touch, repeat the same process on the lower lashline of the eye. Clinique’s bestselling Quickliner™ For Eyes glides on silky, long-lasting colour that stays put all day.
Learning how to apply eyeliner can take a bit of practice. If you have any questions, chat with a Clinique Consultant for tips and tricks on how to achieve your desired eyeliner look.
To apply liquid eyeliner, find the center of the upper lid. Now, as close to the lashes as possible, paint small dashes on the upper lid toward the outer corner of the eye. Once the liner is dry, fill in the spaces between the dashes until the line is smooth and solid. Our bestselling Pretty Easy™ Liquid Eyelining Pen is virtually mistake-proof and creates a clean line in one steady sweep.

Winged eyeliner, or “cat-eyes,” became popular in the 1960s and continues to be a statement look for dramatic eye makeup.
To create a cat-eye, start at the outside corner and bring the liner in across the top lashline to the middle. Next, paint from the inner corner of the eye to connect the lines. Perfect the line, if needed, ensuring it gradually thickens towards the outside.
If using liquid or gel, remember to let the liner dry before completing the line. A cat-eye or winged look should appear smooth. If eyeliner looks wobbly you can fix the imperfections with makeup remover and reapply.

Every Clinique eyeliner is ophthalmologist tested. Still, eyeliner should be removed whenever eyes are ready for a long rest. To whisk away eyeliner without irritating your eyes, try a totally tugless makeup remover like Clinique Take the Day Off™ Makeup Remover for Lids, Lashes, and Lips.
